You have bought —or are about to buy— a villa in Spain to renovate. Marbella, Costa Brava, Mallorca, the Madrid sierra. The question is not whether you will renovate; it is with whom, how and how much you will actually invest.
Renovating a luxury villa in Spain is a different project from renovating an apartment. It involves structure, exteriors, pool, garden, single-family-scale installations and, almost always, remote coordination with the client. Mistakes here are not measured in thousands of euros: they are measured in months of delay and hundreds of thousands.
At Lobo Interiors we design and direct full villa renovations across Spain. We are a complete interior design and architecture studio: we do not only decorate, we also draw plans, budget, contract the builder and supervise the site. A single point of contact from the first plan to the last piece of furniture.
We operate from our Studios in Barcelona, Madrid and Málaga, which lets us cover the three main luxury-villa geographies in Spain with our own team close to site.
Marbella, Benahavís (La Zagaleta, El Madroñal), Sotogrande, Estepona. Run from the Málaga Studio. Typically international clients with a second or third home.
Cadaqués, Begur, S'Agaró, inland Costa Brava. Run from Barcelona. Stone houses, restored masías and new builds on existing plots.
Mallorca (Deià, Valldemossa, Pollença, Andratx), Ibiza (Santa Gertrudis, San José). Coordinated from Barcelona with weekly visits during construction.
La Moraleja, Pozuelo, Las Rozas, La Finca, Guadarrama. Run from the Madrid Studio.
We accept selective projects in the Canary Islands, Basque Country and Levante when scope justifies. Ask without commitment.
This is the most important decision you will make. Most studios advertised as villa interior designers only do decoration: they hand you a moodboard and a furniture plan, and leave the site in the builder's hands. The result then depends on the builder, not on the design.
Layout, partitions, installations, bespoke joinery, bathrooms, kitchen, architectural lighting, home automation. All defined in an executive project before construction starts.
We compare bids on equal terms, negotiate clauses and timing, and sign the contract as your representative. No hidden commissions.
Weekly visits (or more in critical phases), quality control, validation of every line item before payment, change management and issue resolution. You do not need to be on site.
Access to professional suppliers —quarries, cabinetmakers, blacksmiths, lighting makers— with conditions not available to a private client. Physical verification of every batch.
The day you receive the villa, it is fully finished and styled. Sofas, rugs, curtains, decorative lighting, art. Keys in hand.
Over 70 % of our villa clients live outside Spain during construction. We have designed the process so you do not need to be there.
You tell us about the project, we look at plans or memo of the villa, we give you honest orientation on investment and timing. No commitment.
Our team travels, draws detailed plans if needed and runs the preliminary study. You receive a complete report on current state and opportunities.
We inherit from Lobo Studio (architectural visualisation) the ability to show you your finished villa before we start. You sign off the design from your living room in London, Geneva or Dubai.
Complete technical documentation. Comparative of local builders. Contract signed as your representative.
Weekly visits with photographic and progress report. Bi-weekly video calls. Access to a shared folder with all live documentation.
Furniture, textiles and art installation. Key handover with the villa ready to live in. Typical total timeline: 14-22 months depending on scope.
Ranges vary by location and finish level. These are typical execution prices (construction only, excluding fees and loose furniture) for a full luxury villa renovation.
| Area | High-end (€/m²) | Ultra (€/m²) |
|---|---|---|
| Marbella, Benahavís, Sotogrande | 2,000 – 3,500 | from 4,000 |
| Mallorca and Ibiza | 2,200 – 3,800 | from 4,500 |
| Costa Brava (Cadaqués, Begur) | 1,800 – 3,000 | from 3,500 |
| Madrid sierra (La Moraleja) | 1,800 – 3,000 | from 3,500 |
For a 400 m² villa in Marbella at high-end level, this means between €800,000 and €1,400,000 of construction only. On top: studio fees (8-12 % on construction), furniture and styling (typically €150,000 – €400,000 in a villa of this size). Realistic range for your specific villa in the first conversation.
Yes. Over 70 % of our villa clients are outside Spain during construction. We have process, team and tools designed for remote coordination: bi-weekly video calls, weekly photographic reports and a shared folder with live documentation.
Spanish, English and French. Our project managers in Marbella and Málaga handle international clients in their language from the first meeting to delivery.
A 45-60 minute video call where we understand the project, look at the villa plans if you have them and give honest orientation on investment, timing and fit with our studio. No commitment.
Between 14 and 22 months from first meeting to key handover. This includes 3-4 months of project, 8-14 months of construction and 1-2 months of styling and delivery. Demolition and new build extends the timeline to 24-30 months.
We do not accept projects below €600,000 total budget or commissions without integral project (pure decoration). We focus on clients seeking a complete studio, not a furniture supplier.
If you are considering renovating a villa in Spain and want a first honest conversation —investment, timing, fit with our studio— write to us. We work in Spanish, English and French. We accept a limited number of villas per year.
Same team, same site supervision and the same standards in every destination.
