Biophilic design

A design strategy that reintroduces natural patterns — light, planting, living materials, water, views — into built space to improve the wellbeing of the people who use it.

Definition

Biophilic design is not decorating with plants. It is a project decision taken before the palette: where daylight enters, how the space ventilates, which materials age well to the touch and which views are protected from each room.

In our commissions it becomes measurable: useful daylight hours, integrated planting with irrigation actually solved, share of natural-origin materials and CO₂ and VOC levels in real use.
